Pluto in Capricorn Nov 2008-March 2023

Alongside Uranus and Neptune, Pluto is one of the 3 transpersonal planets. They are called "transpersonal" because their respective revolutions being slow, they affect whole generations.

The planet of power, sexuality, death, transformation, and regeneration, Pluto takes about 248 years to go around the zodiac. It rules passion and intensity, but as the higher octave of Mars can also be violent, compulsive, obsessive and very dark.

How does Pluto in Capricorn affect us?

The last time, Pluto was in Capricorn was between 1762 and 1777.

In 1776 the signature of the Declaration of Independence from British rulership, enabled a new government concept to be born making the US the leader of the free world.

In November 2008, the beginning of the new Pluto in Capricorn transit we are now experiencing, Barak Obama was elected the 1st African-American President of the US.

Because in the chart of the US, Pluto is presently returning to its initial position (Pluto return), this could mean the beginning of the end of its superpower. Within 10 years, we may well witness the United States of America gradually dissolving completely. The not so-united states may start claiming their independence from the whole and set their own governments.

During the past 14 years major, dramatic changes have taken place in the world. It could seem that there is a lot more darkness than ever before. Not necessarily. It was always there, just not as visible. In these end times of the 2017-2022 period, we find ourselves symbolically in the spinning cycle of the washing machine, where everything that was hidden, is intensely coming to the surface. Pluto is the lava that can boil in the depths of the earth for a very long time, but when the volcano finally erupts, it explodes in a massive, devastating flood of destruction.

Most of our present-day world leaders are fanatical, displaying dangerous dictatorial tendencies. With no regards for human standards of morality or ethics, they edict oppressive rules that only benefit their own selfish personal ambitions. In this power hunger mania, no matter how many people need to be crushed to get to the top, the end justifies the means. All nations are involved in each other’s affairs. The need for total control, leads to the concept of a world government where a small elite is hoping to enslave the masses. The largest power blocks are involved in gigantic financial interests. Mass production is being threatened.

The deep-seated resentment against a system that reveals itself to be abusive, controlling, corrupt, and unjust creates a deep distrust of authority in all its forms. A sense that the world is not a safe place can drive some to ill-considered moves, and in some cases, tragic acts of violence.

During this period of Pluto in Capricorn, the public opinion has become hugely aware of the horrors of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child slavery, underground gang activities, satanic cults, terrorism, racial and religious discrimination, tragic mass murders, and genocides of entire populations….

On a personal level, we are witnessing the death of old conditions.

The main lesson of this 2008-2023/2024 period is to take responsibility for our actions. Blaming others or society for our failures, being hypocritical, using others for our own needs, maintaining our position at all costs, can turn very ugly. We need to know ourselves, identify our skills, set compelling goals for ourselves, and actualize them through our own efforts. This requires discipline, commitment, and sustained efforts. Despite power struggles, reversals of fortune, possible public disgrace, and drastic career changes that completely alter our life direction and may even turn us into an entirely different person, it could be tempting to bend the rules, take ethically questionable short cuts, play games, fall prey to discouragement, or be attracted to addictive substances. None of that is encouraged. In these times of major changes, the need for constructive action, diplomacy and patience is required.

Pluto will start exiting Capricorn in March 2023, but will completely enter Aquarius on November 20, 2024. A fundamental, far-reaching turning point will occur at that point. Power will no longer be the privilege of a selected few, but will go into the hands of the people. The concept that based on their abilities and self-discipline, human beings must be given a chance to develop their own potential freely will prevail. Major reforms in existing power structures will occur. Dynamic changes will be visible in business organizations and governments.

Paving the way for that new reality, we are now called to re-examine all our values regarding our reputation and what worldly success means to us personally. Pluto in Capricorn does not support manipulating the system to our own advantage, being blindly ambitious, striving for recognition at any cost, or abusing our power just because of emotional or financial insecurity. In order to dislodge any trace of lack of integrity, and maintain a position of prominence, it is important that we truly believe in what we do, and tap in the strength of our intuition. A deep, penetrating insight into how the system works and sound organizational skills inspire positive leadership.

The time has come for us all to choose the reality we want for ourselves, and become the masters of our own destiny.

In Loving Light.
