Taurus rules money and the land.

With Uranus, we should expect the unexpected! Uranus brings revolutions and breaks us through fast, sudden changes. The tempo of life speeds up. He is the Wave-maker, the Risk-taker, the Awakener. He rebels against doing things the normal way and being controlled by repressive group mind-sets. Operating alone, he likes to destabilize  and experiment.

With Uranus in Taurus, what does this 2018-2026 period mean to us for our finances, our jobs, our goals and the earth in general?

It is always interesting to go back in history and see what occurred the last time humanity went through this transit. The last Uranus in Taurus period happened between June 1934- May 1942: Following the huge 1929 Wall Street crash, the great Depression set in. Values inherent to materialism got challenged. Many banks had to close. The money supply shrank. Interest rates soared. There were high levels of unemployment. 40% of Americans were living in poverty. The farmers struggled. The introduction of machinery meant over production and the impossibility to sell. Immigration laws made life very difficult for foreigners trying to enter the US. A huge amount of discrimination emerged against Jews, African Americans, gays… (resurgence of the KKK). In the middle of that period, WWII erupted (1939) and the US entered the war (1941). It was a time of major political, social and economic changes.

During the present  Uranus in Taurus transit, our sense of security is suddenly undermined. We are living through economic extremes, unusual finances, marked fluctuations in material values. Carefully organized plans take quick detours.  Financial conditions go through ups and downs. Everything we own is in a state of flux, resulting in sudden losses and unexpected gains. Unforeseen circumstances shake our sources of income. Strange upsets cause upheavals. Our finances are unsettled, -in some cases, this may mean no fixed salary, debts enslave us, using credit cards encourages quick purchases that can invite financial chaos. Yet reversals of fortune are not necessarily as bad as they sound, as they open doors to future opportunities. Extraordinary financial surprises occur. Our income suddenly comes from unexpected sources. Our life is turned upside down. Our choices are challenged: do I keep my job? Do I stay with my lover? Do I stay married? Do I sell my home? Do I relocate?

Material structures are ready to undergo progressive disruptions. Old structures are shattered. Many changes in the social order require major financial adjustments. We are being asked what security means to us.

Ingenuity, resourcefulness, exciting, original ways of making money abound. Practical innovations  are introduced producing concrete results with regard to the use of material resources. We are drawn to unconventional, intuitive, creative investments. We may care less than usual about losing money, as long as we have the freedom to try new financial strategies. 

There are definitely breaks in our everyday routine. What had slipped into monotony in shaken up by new exciting projects.  During this period, in the midst of all the upheavals, we also need to slow down, appreciate the simpler things of life. Our lives are enriched by taking the time to smell the proverbial roses and enjoying the beauty and abundance of Nature. We can make good use of this cycle by creating a vegetable garden and growing flowers.

Uranus in Taurus brings many progressive human reforms, business and economic changes. Money and social consciousness are tied together. Money is likely to be channeled into scientific projects. We may feel called to give to charities, humanitarian causes, and organizations that protect wildlife and Nature.

Some people however could become quite unyielding and implacable, holding on tightly to their resources. Gripped by insecurity, they are likely to refuse to share.

Being cheap is not supported by Uranus, but then spending freely and too impulsively, without guilt can spell big trouble.  We may alternate between extravagant spending and frugal living. Reckless buying could become a major challenge. Uncharacteristic possessiveness clashes with our need for independence. If we manage to strike a balance, we find original, practical financial solutions.

We should however be careful of seemingly clever investments and impractical financial ventures. They could cause serious financial mistakes leading to major financial problems. Conflicts over unpaid debts are likely.

The double fixed energy of Uranus and Taurus can create a rather inflexible outlook. Clashes between taking conventional action and being unconventional are likely to emerge. Our urge for freedom is limited by our attachment to material objects. Owning things could become an energy trapping. Difficulties arise when we attempt to change material conditions too quickly. Spiritual impulses are frustrated by too big a compliance to conservative business and governmental institutions.

If we have ever wished to become self-employed, now is the time! We are on alert for new opportunities. Our desire for independence is so greatly enhanced  that we could be tempted to drop whatever is not working mid-stream and switch gears. The need to try something new overrules sticking to what we know. A certain degree of risk-taking helps us succeed. Exploring new business areas especially if they contribute to the future of humanity feel exciting. In a need for variety and change, we could take on several small jobs. If we remain independent, adventurous, and spiritually strong-willed, we have more options than we realize.

We want our finances to go our way without the interference or supervision of others. New strategies to deal with taxes, and protect ourselves from scam artists are needed.

The shake-up of world values awakens us to the power our possessions have over us. If we are too emotionally immersed in what we own, everything could fall apart. Devastating events beyond our control can bring our finances to a screeching halt. In some instances, we could lose everything we have to a natural disaster, or the sudden shutting down of the company we were working for. We are forced to detach from materialism. It is important that we rid ourselves of excess materiality and that we spontaneously give what we no longer need or use.

On the good news front, the deep understanding that our mind rules over matter, intensifies our powers of attraction.

Uranus in Taurus forces us to learn new computer skills to be used in management and accounting.

Unused creative skills, personal resources we hadn’t tapped into, unusual artistic and musical talents emerge. Our intuition is re-awakened and it is important we follow our hunches.

We could feel an attraction to collecting unusual possessions. Our appreciation of beauty in all its forms is awakened.

Major adjustments concerning how we view our value structure force us to rethink our future plans and go down a different path than originally planned.
