MAY 2024
RUNE OF THE MONTH: Ehwaz “the Horse”. The winds of change and freedom are blowing. New elements are being introduced in our lives, encouraging us to release what had become stale and outmoded. An exciting realm of possibilities becomes available, inviting us to own our power, expand our wisdom, and explore activities we, until now, had only dreamed of.

Pluto turns retrograde on Thursday 5/2 at 10:46 AM till October 11. Its shadow period lasts until February 2, 2025. The degrees traveled in May (2º06-1º56’ Aquarius) are associated in the Sabian Symbols to the following images: “A deserter from the Navy” and “An unexpected thunderstorm”. During the next 5 months and a half, on a collective level, corruption, the threat of civil war, mass manipulation, and various forms of black magic are being exposed in an even more glaring light leading to transformation and purification. On a personal level, self-destructive attitudes, obsessional habits, old emotional wounds, jealousy, and control are resurfacing, bringing about the chance for a complete regeneration of self.
Jupiter enters Gemini on Saturday 5/25 at 4:15 PM till June 9, 2025. The degrees covered in May (0º to 1º11’ Gemini) are symbolized by: “Santa Claus filling stockings furtively” and “A glass-bottomed boat reveals under-sea wonders”. The coming year enhances our thirst for knowledge. Ideas will be shared extensively. Connecting the dots will help us piece together the whole picture. The role of media in mass manipulation will come to light like never before. Independent journalism revealing The Truth will be on the rise. The importance of good schooling will be stressed. Major reforms of the educational system are likely to be proposed. The problems connected to mass immigration, religious fanatism, intolerance, scattered mental focus, propaganda, and superficiality will be exposed. Discrimination, a positive outlook, a readiness to expand our perception of the world, and a willingness to raise our level of consciousness will become paramount. Issues will be approached from every point of view. New inventions will appear. We shall be made aware that growth comes from the development of a wide array of skills. Freely shared ideas, increased communication, ingenuity, mental alertness, travel, the development of our linguistic talents, the need to be well-informed, and better reasoning powers will bring much needed changes in the way we perceive the world.

This month’s intentional meditation started on Tuesday 4/23 with the Full Moon in Scorpio at exactly 4:49 PM.
On Tuesday 5/7, take out your blank full moon charged papers and write on each a concise, positive intention. Place them on a balcony, in a garden or near a window so that they are out by exactly 8:22 PM for the New Moon in Taurus. Once that moment has passed, staple them together and put them away in a folder expecting the manifestation of all your dreams….
Next month’s intentional meditation starts on Thursday 5/23. Take out as many blank sheets of paper as you have intentions and place them near a window, on a balcony or in a garden so that they basked in the light of the Full Moon in Sagittarius at exactly 6:53 AM. Once that moment passed, gather your Full Moon charged blank sheets and place them in a folder until the next New Moon next month.

Friday 5/3: Mars Sextile Pluto (2:06 AM)
A day to discard what is non-essential, hold our convictions, and make constructive changes. Cooperating with others helps us achieve our goals. Our actions are motivated by passion and intensely aimed at transformation.
Monday 5/6: Sun Sextile Saturn (10:42 PM)
We may be restricted by duties and obligations which we however fulfill with poise and dignity. The loneliness we feel more keenly today is best channeled into hard work, the honoring of our responsibilities, and the furthering of our ambitions. We take accountability for our actions and accept limitations with wisdom. A transit inviting us to be realistic in our partnerships and deepen a good relationship. Our approach to our finances is balanced.
Monday 5/13: Sun Conjunct Uranus (2:14 AM), Venus Sextile Saturn (12:45 PM)
A day to expect the unexpected. The rhythm of life could be more hectic. People tend to be erratic, unstable, and unpredictable. Unforeseen disruptions as well as sudden changes of plans are likely to occur. The more present to the moment, flexible, and adaptable we are, the easier and more interesting this day will be. Yet, despite the excitement today brings, we tend to consider our relationships with great realism and seriousness. Unlikely to fall for rainbows and glamour, we seek a grounded love affair promising solidity and duration.
Wednesday 5/15: Mercury enters Taurus (10:05 AM) till June 3
During the next 2 weeks, our communication skills are geared towards peace, beauty, and concrete results. Our thoughts are practical, we process ideas more slowly, and tend to ruminate the information we receive. Once we have made up our mind, we could prove quite obstinate. Music, singing, construction work, and gardening are particularly favored.
Friday 5/17: Mercury Square Pluto (12:44 AM)
A day that could bring frustrating communications. We are not received the way we would like to be, are likely to be misunderstood or may not get the credit we feel we deserve. Forcing matters or issuing ultimatums is ill-advised. A day best spent laying low and keeping our opinions to ourselves.
Saturday 5/18: Venus Conjunct Uranus (4:41 AM), Sun Conjunct Jupiter (11:45 AM)
One of the best days of the year. Our self-confidence, enthusiasm, and faith are at an all times high. We are warm, friendly, and popular. Attracted to eccentric, mentally stimulating, exciting characters, we are eager to explore new relationships that enhance our uniqueness, encourage more freedom of expression, and expand our philosophy of life.
Sunday 5/19: Sun Sextile Neptune (3:45 PM)
A day best spent dreaming, being creative, and re-imagining our life. Artists are particularly inspired. But because we are rather impractical, this transit is not favorable to signing legally binding documents or focusing on work requiring a disciplined attention to details. Watching a feel-good movie, reading a nice novel, meditating, or relaxing are good uses of this otherwise elusive transit.
Monday 5/20: the Sun enters Gemini (5:50 AM) till June 20
During the coming month, we tend to be more volatile, talkative, and curious than normal. All sorts of people and ideas seem attractive. We are restless, seek movement, new possibilities, and exciting endeavors. A very beneficial period to learn something new, write, teach, and travel.
Wednesday 5/22: Sun Trine Pluto (8:14 AM)
Our self-confidence, leadership abilities, and natural command are enhanced by this transit. Our authority elicits the cooperation of others and inspires respect. If we use our power constructively for the good of all, there is nothing we cannot accomplish today.
Thursday 5/23: Venus Conjunct Jupiter (1:29 AM), Venus Sextile Neptune (3:50 AM), Venus enters Gemini (1:30 PM) till June 16, Jupiter Sextile Neptune (2:44 PM)
During the next 3 weeks, we are social butterflies, excited to communicate with people from all walks of life. We could be somewhat superficial in our relationships but curious and open to learning from our encounters. Our artistic tastes are versatile and eclectic. Today, more specifically, our idealism is stimulated. A wonderful transit to create a vision board that delineates clearly the future we wish to create for ourselves. A romance could feel enchanted and fill us with dreamy expectations. Feeling that we met our spirit partner we could enthusiastically overlook a few red flags and promise, or be promised, more than can realistically be delivered. In our boundless optimism, going over budget is a distinct possibility today, as is over-eating or drinking too much. But with a healthy dose of discrimination and moderation, this can be a very warm and happy day.

Hidden emotions as well as hindering social patterns are brought to the surface to be purified and transformed. A romance could seem fated and be unusually passionate. Thursday 5/30: Mercury Conjunct Uranus (10:54 PM)
Exciting, stimulating conversations can speed up the rhythm of life. We may meet eccentric people or reconnect with someone we hadn’t seen in a long time. An unusual information may come our way. Plans are likely to be disrupted. Changes open dynamic new horizons.
