OCTOBER 2014
RUNE OF THE MONTH: Gebo, “a gift”. This Rune has no reverse. It symbolizes perfect, unobstructed union. It is when we generously offer something that we either love or that another will cherish, that a true soul connection is made. As we give, so do we receive. October is a month to freely give of ourselves, be present moment to moment and centered in our hearts.

This is an eclipse month. A month of major, no return changes that lift us to a whole new level in our lives.
The Lunar eclipse (Full Moon) will happen on Wednesday 10/8 at 3:51 AM at 15º05’ Aries. This degree is symbolized by “Brownies dancing in the setting sun”. In Hindu lore, Brownies refer to good natured spirits performing important services around the house at night, such as sweeping, cooking or cleaning. We free ourselves from the past suddenly and unexpectedly. A new chapter is opened in our lives encouraging us to recreate ourselves in harmony, peace and beauty. In our daily environment, we see beyond the visible and connect deeply with the esoteric laws of the universe. Our mind is serious and committed to the truth. As our subconscious opens, enriching our conscious mind, profound healings of our relationships occur.
The Solar Eclipse (New Moon) occurs on Thursday 10/23 at 2:57 PM at 0º25’ Scorpio. The image associated with this degree is: “A sight seeing bus filled with tourists”. This eclipse points to major transformations of consciousness much akin to what happens when we visit a foreign country and discover all sorts of new ways of being. A profound death and rebirth is occurring within ourselves. A need for depth of emotion and harmony in communication. A profound ability to see into the unknown and the invisible enhances our compassion and understanding of the interconnectedness of all life.
Mercury turns retrograde on Saturday Oct 4 until Saturday October 25 between 2º17’ Scorpio and 16º49’ Libra. Its shadow period continues until November 10. Mercury retrograde periods are not very popular in regard to anything mechanical, yet they are wonderful for reconnecting with long lost friends, revisiting places we haven’t seen in a while and remembering projects that had been collecting dust. This particularly retrogration could bring back a long lost romance, giving us the chance to reconsider it in a different light and remove any remaining blocks to true intimacy.
Uranus remains retrograde this whole month until Dec 21st. The shadow (the period in time needed for it to return to the exact same degree it started its retrogration on) lasts until April 8, 2015. It travels this month from 14º47’ to 13º36’ Aries These 2 degrees are represented in the Sabian Symbols by: “An Indian weaving a blanket” and “a serpent coiling near a man and a woman”. Our individuation this month happens through our connection to the sacredness of Mother Earth. Performing ceremonies honoring Nature helps us understand more deeply the balance, complementarity and harmony of the masculine and the feminine within and thus, without. It is when our inner marriage is established and that we feel complete within ourselves, that the partner who matches us in heart, mind, body and spirit can be magnetized to us.
Neptune remains retrograde this whole month until November 15. The degrees it travels this month (5º21’-4º52’ Pisces) are symbolized by: “A parade of army officers in full dress” and “A church bazar”. Nothing is as it seems. A time to embrace our compassion. Our sensivity in heightened. We could become more aware of higher realms of consciousness through dreams and meditation. A wonderful month for artistic inspiration and connecting consciously to the sacred in our daily reality.

Kindly note that because it coincides with 2 eclipses, this month’s intentional mediation is particularly powerful. It begins on Wednesday 10/8. Take out as many blank sheets as you will have intentions, and place them out (on a balcony, near a window or in a garden) to be charged by the Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) in Aries at exactly 3:51 AM. Once that moment has passed, gather your sheets and place them in a folder until the next Solar Eclipse (New Moon) in Scorpio on Thursday 10/23. Same procedure as above, take out your blank full moon charged papers and write on each a concise, positive intention. Place them on a balcony, in a garden or near a window at exactly 2:57 PM. Once that moment has passed, staple them together and put them away in a folder expecting the manifestation of all your dreams…

Regarding Mercury retrograde, please refer to the opening paragraph. Power games should be avoided at all costs. Ultimatums will bring us nowhere. Important to negotiate to reach solutions that are positive for all involved. Let us exercise more caution than usual while operating a motor vehicle or sharp objects.
Tuesday 10/7: Sun Opposition Uranus (1:57 PM)
Expect the unexpected. Rash behavior, impulsive reactions could lead to sudden estrangement. A day when seeking the excitement of the unknown and connecting to our uniqueness is more attractive than settling down.
Wednesday 10/8: Lunar Eclipse in Aries (3:51 AM), Venus Square Pluto (10:31 AM), Mars Trine Jupiter (1:43 PM)
Regarding the Lunar Eclipse, kindly refer to the opening paragraph. Today, more specifically, passions are likely to run high. Hidden aspects of our relationships could emerge and possible blocks to deeper intimacy could become apparent. Adventure could feel particularly attractive. A wonderful day for physical exercise and long distance traveling. Our energy is high and positive.
Friday 10/10: Mercury enters Libra (10:27 AM till November 8), Sun Sextile Jupiter (4:18 PM)
During the next month, there is a marked need to express ourselves with balance and in harmony. We could feel more diplomatic than usual and more aware of how others are receiving what we have to tell them. We are also more social as well as attracted to beauty and peace. Today, specifically, we are likely to feel particularly positive and enthusiastic with a propensity to expansion and exuberance. Let us not embrace more than we can handle or promise more than we can deliver. If however, we remain wise in our financial expenditures and interactions with others, this could be one of the best days of the year.
Saturday 10/11: Venus Opposition Uranus (2:10 AM)
Coming together and separating could occur suddenly and expectedly. We are drawn to unusual people today and could become close to a previously total stranger. Our need to remain ourselves, or an exaggerated need for independence, could create an estrangement leading quickly to an impulsive separation. Important to remain in our hearts to smooth out this exciting but aggressive transit.
Tuesday 10/14: Venus Sextile Jupiter (1:33 AM)
A beautiful day for a pleasant social gathering, an expansive love relationship and a culturally enlightening trip. Wonderful for visiting an art gallery, attending a concert or going to a nice, elegant party. We could feel particularly attractive and extraverted. Money could be spent more freely than usual. Let us however remain wise financially and not be too overly confident.
Wednesday 10/15: Sun Sextile Mars (0:19 AM)
A very dynamic day. Forward movement is enhanced. New projects are favored. We are direct and active. A great day to open new positive pathways in our lives.
